cuppy cake

Got one of these darling things at So Cupcake. Just a delightful sight isn't it? Red velvet and cream cheese frosting. mmmm i want another one. Haha i think the point of this picture, say I was advertising or something, served its purpose of making something look delicious. There's a colorful bright background, but it isn't distracting because the focus is so limited.  How do they make them so perfect looking? I'm going to go back now bye.

auburn

so playing with my best friend here, and as she reaches down to grab a honey suckle her flawless auburn curls flow in the wind. haha i had to capture it. I think it's an interesting shot, and i love the light in her hair.

the avenues

Saw this sight while taking a nice summer walk.  Can  I have this car please?  I love the street and the trees and the colors with the car, but I also liked getting closer.  Notice the reflection of the headlight in the bumper? Like this one.

the real thing

Finally back home and headed downtown.  I've always loved this painting on the wall but I can never find it when I'm looking for it.  Much like other shots I've gotten lately, I quickly shot it through a car window.  But I think the composition worked out alright.  Cool building.

last one I promise.. just kidding probably not

Okay so my little best friend Liam is probably my favorite thing to photograph. I love this shot. He was using his banana as a phone, and as I got my camera out to shoot it (I was admittedly laughing a little) he gave me this look like 'what? what's the matter with this?' I love his expression. And the focus. And him.  Too good.

beachin

Alright alright I know. This one's pretty bad. But hopefully about as cliche as the get. I just can't help it I think the shadows on the sand and the reflection and ripples on the water look so cool.  I loveee the beach

a fun day

Just a normal day here in Los Altos, running around outside and I decided to bring my camera along.  I had so much fun with these boys, and I was so happy to be able capture a couple shots of them being themselves.  Their expressions sum up perfectly their personalities.  Samuel always the most sophisticated and posing for me.  Liam playing all by himself not telling anyone what's going on.. except his little cat.  It's a very serious game as you can see on his face in every picture.  Benjamin being so crazy all over the place that I could only get one shot of him.  I love this family.

Cliche sunset?  Not really cause the silhouette of the buildings and that lonesome tree aren't often photographed. You know.

bridge

I don't really know.  I saw this driving by and quickly shot it through the  window. Cool wooden bridge.  Pretty tree.  I like California.

Liam

Kay I'm sorry.  I just can't get enough.  I love when he looks over like this. and his darling curls.I'm a sucker for the little ones okay?

out of focus experiment

This is a little something I tried in New York that I forgot to post.  It was at night, and I just manually focused my lens.. or shall I say unfocused. I know they all kind of look the same, but I thought they were pretty interesting. I like lights.
this is what I love about California.. sun sun sun sun sun sun sun. and palm trees. I like the composition in this one and the contrast between the shadows and the bright sunlight.  I thought it made a nice silhouette almost, still with a hint of green.

William

I think it's safe to say boys are all I've been shooting here in Cali, but I don't mind I love it. haha his expression is hilarious. and i love how he wore this shirt half the trip. and his glasses and patch? too cute. I'm obsessed with this one he's my best friend. *knock knock "Kasandra are you in here? time to come play!!" every three minutes. love it.

Samuel

Cutest boy. I just love him. White babies I know I know, but I love him too much.  and they're all i've been playing with here in California so. you know. I like him and his hat and his schnozz and his eyes and his laugh. little Sam.

Benjamin

Look out! This is one rare moment where this boy is standing still. He's usually all over the place. But I had to catch it. I love his eye contact, his placement the frame, and actually I like his stance. Like he's about to pounce. Haha or something. hmmmmmmm

santa cruz

we went to this beach for dinner, and with my camera I couldn't get enough.  I loved all the colors of the umbrellas, houses, tiles, paintings, buildings, sun.  this is one instance where color is a significant part  of this series. I loved it here and I want to go back.

I miss these days

The days of dinosaur rainboots and tricycles.  endless backyard summer.  I like the way this composition worked out.  And I love the story it's telling.

can't a boy just wear some boots?

I know this is so typical of me.  But I'm staying at my cousins house, and they are what I've been shooting.  Haha Sam is the funniest baby I've ever known.  He just walks around on his own exploring and walking around not paying attention to anyone around him.  I think his expressions are hilarious in both of these, not to mention the rainboots.

abandoned rose shop

The one day I was home from New York, and before I left for California, Chan and I went exploring.  We found this abandoned greenhouse that we thought would be a rose shop, and loved the outside until we decided to hop through the window. The inside was even greater.  There were the cooooolest things inside.  Using my handy dandy limited focus technique, I think a got a few shots I really like.  It's always interesting to shoot abandoned things, but I love how this place had green all around it.  It really made me wonder the story of this place, and I'm sure that I'll be back to shoot it soon.
